The 2026 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series will start this Saturday, March 14, at the par-71 course of Entebbe Club after a short break.
This will be the fourth edition of the tournament and organisers expect a big turnout, with many golfers already registering early.
Excitement ahead of the opening event has also been boosted by the return of the online trivia that runs from Monday to Friday. The quiz asks questions about the tournament, sponsors and golf in general. Winners will receive bottles of Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve during the 19th hole experience on Saturday.
Katogo Captain Elly Kibuka Mukasa said preparations for the season opener are complete.
“We are ready for this weekend. From the number of golfers registering online, we expect a full course. We promise a great day both on the course and during the 19th hole experience, where our partners have prepared something special to start the season in style,” Mukasa said.
Partners have prepared prizes for the best performers in both the men’s and ladies’ categories, as well as winners of side bets.
Golfers will also have a chance to win a brand-new Mitsubishi Outlander Sport if they make a hole-in-one. The car is provided by Victoria Motors and insured by GA Insurance.
The season will begin with the “It’s Up To Me” format, which is being introduced to the series for the first time. In this format, after players tee off, one player in each group chooses the position where they will take their second shot from and also decides where the rest of the group will play their second shots.
If a player chooses a position where the ball is out of bounds, the affected players must return to the tee and hit their third shot. Winners will be decided based on the lowest nett scores.
Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank, said the series has continued to grow and the fourth edition promises to be even bigger.
“We are happy to see the series start its fourth edition this weekend. It has been a great journey and we are excited about the future. With the support of our partners, we believe this edition will be successful and memorable,” Nakiyaga said.
The 19th hole experience will feature cocktails and special bottle offers from Johnnie Walker.
The after-party will also have a Caribbean theme with entertainment from A Pass, known for his dancehall and soulful music.
The 2026 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is supported by partners including RwandAir, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, Kampala Serena Hotel, Fenon Events, Goldman’s Luxury, NBS Sport, Case Hospital and Time Cop Security.
