Three players of Buhimba United Saints FC have been provisionally suspended for 90 days over alleged involvement in match manipulation, the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee has confirmed.
The players provisionally suspended are Ayebale Moses, Dudu Ramathan and Nkata Fred.
The suspension was imposed by the Investigatory Chamber following an ongoing investigation into the match between Lugazi FC and Buhimba United Saints, played on November 8, 2025.
Buhimba lost 5-2 at Lugazi, with David Bagoole, Abdul Kalanzi, Dawson Mafumu and a brace from Freedom Mungudit inflicted the side to achieve defeat. Buhimba scored through Sadick Moro and an own goal from Richard Ayiko.
Information gathered so far indicates that the match may have been manipulated for betting purposes.
In that month, few days after the match, the club suspended four players – Moses Ayebale, Fred Nkata, Dudu Ramadhan and David Kasaija, saying then that they violated players’ obligation in article 4, subsection XIV of the FUFA Competitions rules.
FUFA says the investigation was opened after receiving reports about the alleged manipulation.
Preliminary findings point to possible involvement of the sanctioned players, prompting the opening of formal proceedings for a potential breach of Article 43 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code, which relates to manipulation of football matches or competitions.
FUFA further noted that the alleged conduct may also violate criminal provisions under the National Sports Act, and the matter will be reported to the Uganda Police for further action.
According to FUFA, the provisional suspension was issued in line with Section 78 of the Ethics and Disciplinary Code to safeguard the integrity of the competition while investigations continue.
