City Oilers will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the 2026 National Basketball League when they face UPDF Tomahawks tonight at the YMCA Court in Wandegeya.
The Oilers opened their campaign with a 75–64 victory over Namuwongo Blazers last Friday at Lugogo.
New signings Landry Ndikumana and Joel Lukoji, who scored 17 and 12 points respectively in that game, will once again be key as they seek to continue their fine start.
Fayed Baale starred with 20 points while Titus Lual who battled a lengthy injury last season, looked ready for the new season with 12 points and 7 reboubds off the bench.
The other new recruits Joel Kayiira, Daniel Odokonyero and Isaac Athuai Akoal will take time to gel, and will be key to Oilers depth this campaign.
UPDF Tomahawks, who are new to the league, will be searching for their first win after losing 83–63 to Rezlife Saints on Sunday.
Kevin Kasobya and Peter Akol had 18 and 12 points respectively but the effort proved not enough for Baker Kyambadde’s side.
The Tomahawks have some quality in their roster including Henry Okoth and Felix Mukunzi, but it remains to be seen if they can last a distance with Oilers.
Against Rezlife Saints, they shot just 4-for-23 from three and were outrebounded 48-50 in a game they committed 20 turnovers.
Earlier at the YMCA Court, Miracle Eaglets take on UPDF Lady Tomahawks at 7pm.
