Allan Okello delivered an impressive performance, but Young Africans bowed out of the CAF Champions League despite a commanding 3–0 victory over Algeria’s JS Kabylie

The Ugandan midfielder, who joined the Tanzanian side from Vipers earlier this year, provided a pinpoint corner that was headed home by Aurelio Depu for Young Africans’ second goal. Depu had earlier opened the scoring from the penalty spot to give the hosts a first-half lead.

Issaka Boka sealed the victory late on, finishing a swift counterattack after being set up by Prince Dube.

Despite the emphatic win, Young Africans finished third in Group B with eight points, one behind Morocco’s FAR Rabat, who secured qualification with a goalless draw away to group leaders Al Ahly.

Meanwhile, Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango helped South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns progress to the knockout stage after finishing second in Group D with nine points.

    Qualified Teams:
*Pyramids FC (Egypt) – Group A winners
    *RS Berkane (Morocco) – Group A runners-up
*Al Ahly (Egypt) – Group B winners
    *FAR Rabat (Morocco) – Group B runners-up
*Al Hilal Omdurman (Sudan) – Group C winners
*Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) – Group C runners-up
*Stade Malien (Mali) – Group D winners
    *Esperance Tunis (Tunisia) – Group D runners-up
