Kitara will seek to close gap at the top of the Uganda Premier League table when they face Buhimba United Saints in a Bunyoro derby today.
The Uganda Premier League game will mark the first competitive match to be played at the new Hoima City stadium.
Initially scheduled to be hosted at their home ground, Royals Park Butema, Kitara has since obtained permission to use Hoima City stadium – earmarked for 2027 AFCON – for this match.
Seated second on the table with 43 points, Kitara are four points adrift of leaders Vipers and will cut the deficit to just one point.
Kitara will welcome back Yunus Sibira from suspension after missing the club’s 1-0 away win agaisnt Mbarara City.
Buhimba United players David Kasaija, Maxwell Owachgiu, Eric Muber, Jamil Kiyimba, Charles Kyomuhendo, Derrick Byabachwezi will be facing former side.
Edson Agondeze scored the only goal as Buhimba stunned Kitara 1-0 in the first round meeting, joined Kitara in the mid-season transfer window.
Buhimba United Saints on the other hand, are 14th, third from the bottom with 15 points after 20 matches.
