Hull KR coach Willie Peters told BBC Radio Humberside:

“You don’t want to lose and you don’t want to not play in Grand Finals but it is what it is. The players fought to the end.

“What’s cost us a lot this year has been around our discipline, and it showed tonight in areas again. They fought hard to the end, and credit to Warrington, who played really well. I’m still very, very proud of this group.

“When you look at our season and break it down, it was a very, very demanding season and up until Wembley we were in a really strong position after the start we had. After that we weren’t consistent.

“Discipline and certain parts of our game went away but there’s a real identity of how they play, and it’s important that they keep that.”

[On the red card] “All you have to do is think about what’s next and have a plan to try and win the game. That’s all we spoke about, moving Karl Lawton to the centres, and how we were going to attack.”
