Patson Daka scored in added time to rescue a point for Zambia in a 1-1 draw thriller against Mali at the 2025 Afcon encounter at Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca.
In an eventful affair that lived to its billing, Mali’s El Bilal Toure saw his penalty, awarded after a VAR check, saved as the First-half ended goalless.
But Mali took the lead through Lassine Sinayoko, with the Auxerre forward following his rebound with a ferocious effort from close range after the hour-mark.

It was a poor goal to give away, with Zambia failing to mark during the corner in a build-up to the goal.
And Mali thought they had done enough to take all the maximum points when four minutes where added on normal time.
But Daka had other ideas.
The Leicester striker protruded through two markers to head in a good delivery from Lameck Banda, a goal that sent Zambia into wild celebrations.
It was a disappointing ending for Mali who had looked the better side from kickoff, and leave the match with just a point to show for their dominance.
