Uganda’s leading lifestyle technology brand, BLACKLYF, has announced a strategic partnership with the National Basketball League (NBL) under FUBA for the ongoing season.

The partnership positions BLACKLYF as the official lifestyle technology partner of the 2026 NBL.

BLACKLYF will roll out on-ground activations, co-branded campaigns, product giveaways and sponsored awards aimed at deepening fan engagement and enhancing the overall league experience.

Both parties say the agreement reflects a shared vision to celebrate basketball not only as a sport, but as a cultural movement.

FUBA CEO Marcus Kwikiriza welcomed the partnership, noting the alignment between the brand and the sport.

“As FUBA, we are excited to partner with BLACK because they represent everything a basketball player and the fans resonate with. Basketball is a lifestyle sport globally and BLACK speaks the same language.”

“I am particularly happy to see that our fans, whether you love basketball as a sport or the social elements around it, get to benefit most from this partnership. We are nothing without our fans, so this is a great way to keep them engaged away from the sport directly.”

Black is Uganda’s number 1 trusted audio and wearable brand

As the competition enters a new chapter, BLACKLYF’s involvement is expected to keep fans at the centre of the experience both on and off the court.

BLACKLYF Head of Marketing and Brand Mourice Aliganyira said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to authentic community engagement.

“BLACKLYF is built at the intersection of lifestyle, culture, and technology. Basketball naturally lives in that same space,”Aliganyira noted.

“It’s expressive, energetic, and deeply connected to youth identity. Through this partnership, we are creating meaningful touchpoints with fans by bringing premium audio devices and wearables directly into the basketball environment.”

“Our goal is to connect with fans in ways that feel authentic and rewarding. We are not just supporting the league. We are investing in the lifestyle around it and strengthening our relationship with the community that powers the game.”

As part of the agreement, BLACKLYF will provide promotional materials, sponsor selected awards, introduce exclusive product promotions and collaborate with the league on creative marketing campaigns throughout the season.

The brand will contribute more than UGX 70 million in value over the course of the season through a mix of product giveaways and cash prizes for fans and players.

The package includes premium audio devices, smart wearables and sponsored rewards aimed at recognising loyalty, participation and performance.

There will be halftime giveaways, interactive challenges and branded activations on game days.

The National Basketball League has announced adjustments to fixture tip-off times for this weekend’s games involving UPDF Tomahawks, KCCA Panthers, JKL Dolphins, Kampala Rockets, Victoria She Crocs and UPDF Lady Tomahawks.

According to a statement released by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations dated 12th February 2026, the changes affect games scheduled for Saturday, 14th February at ABJA Park, Naalya.

The game between UPDF Tomahawks and KCCA Panthers, which was initially set to tip off at 6:00pm, will now start at 2:00pm on the same day.

Victoria She Crocs versus UPDF Lady Tomahawks, originally scheduled for 2:00pm, has been moved to 4:00pm.
