KCCA FC coach Brian Ssenyondo expressed his disapppointment with the players after a poor show in defeat against NEC.
The 13-time Uganda Premier League champions lost 3-1 to hosts NEC in a league game on Friday at Lugogo.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s goal proved to be a consolation after NEC scored through Joseph Sseremba and Richard Basangwa, the latter scoring a brace.
“Its a disapointing result, sub-standard and not good enough,” an angry Ssenyondo commented.
“The players had no zeal, no hunger, no attitude and no character.”
Its the fourth loss for KCCA after 16 games, handing the side an awful start to the second round.
They earlier lost to Entebbe UPPC, Police and leaders Vipers, and the side has slipped tp sixth with 30 points – seven behind Vipers atop.
But Ssenyondo remains adamant that KCCA can still clinch the title which they havent won since 2018/19 season.
“You dont lose a title in 16 games, however we have to win games. We have no excuse for a club that even pays us on time.”
“We need to present the club in a better way, we must show fight. We have to show it to the opponent that we want it more, and we cant have another disappointing result like this.”
Next for KCCA FC is a home game against BUL FC.
