SC Villa left Kira Road playground in Kamwokya frustrated after a controversial decision denied them a goal in a 1-0 defeat to Police FC in a Uganda Premier League match on Tuesday.
Police took the lead through Lawrence Tezikya, who bundled the ball home after being set up by Ibrahim Abubakar Ssengooba inside the box.
Villa thought they had found the equaliser when Frank Ssebuufu tapped in from a cross delivered by Hassan Mubiru, but the assistant referee raised the offside flag.
However, video replays suggested Ssebuufu was behind the ball when Mubiru delivered the cross, while Mubiru himself appeared onside when he received the initial long pass.
The decision left SC Villa players and officials protesting the call.
The incident came just days after another controversial moment involving the Jogoos in their match against Express FC.
On Sunday, Mubiru had a goal ruled out for offside after being set up by Aslam Ssemakula, a decision later deemed incorrect.
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) subsequently sanctioned assistant referee Immaculate Ongiera for the mistake.
Back in Tuesday’s contest, Police also had a second goal chalked off after Bedia Djuma Ikamba was adjudged to have committed a foul in the build-up.
Despite the defeat, Villa remain on 35 points on the league table, with their tally still subject to the outcome of an abandoned fixture against Calvary FC.
