Defending Champions Lango Province managed to keep their title defence alive after overcoming Teso Province to reach the semifinals.

Emmanuel Okech scored the all-important goal as Lango edged the second leg 1-0 on Sunday at UTC playground in Lira.

Oketch, off the bench, bundled in from close range after Teso goalkeeper Tom Ikara made a mess of Saidi Mayanja’s long delivery.

The goal was greeted by wild celebrations from a huge crowd, including Allan Okello who graced the match to show support to his teammates.

Lango progress on a 1-0 aggregate victory, after the first leg ended goalless last Sunday in Soroti.

Buganda Province advanced on the away goals rule after a 1-1 draw against Tooro Province in the return leg.

Tooro took the lead through Joseph Ssenyange, but Vianne Sekajugo responded for Buganda to level matters on the day. With the aggregate score tied at 1-1, Buganda progressed courtesy of their away goal advantage.

The two join Bunyoro and Acholi, who edged their opponents on Saturday, in the semifinals.

Lango – Tonny Kyamera, Ivan Okello, Herbert Achai, Isaac Okello, John Paul Acire, Joel Sserunjogi, Reagan Mpande, Saidi Mayanja, Denis Omedi, Ambrose Kigozi, Moses Aliro
