    •Kampala Rockets 64-58 UPDF Tomahawks

Magic Stormers returned to winning ways after a hard fought 75-73 victory over KIU Rangers in a National Basketball League game played on Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Stormers whose only win was a 79-54 victory over Nabisunsa, had lost four on the bounce going into the game.

And they were on course for another defeat after losing the opening quarter 26-06.

And despite a spirited showing, they were down by seven points heading into the last quarter.

Joy Nekesa Mupalia scored a three-pointer with about 16 seconds on the clock to put them upfront and Gimbo Barbra converted a free-throw to give the side a two-point victory.

Daphine Adong led with 25 points while Kur Ajah added a double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Sharon Kirabo scored a game high 31 points, adding 13 rebounds but the effort proved not enough for the Rangers as they suffered their fourth defeat of the season.

Ines Kanyamuneza also contributed a double double of 15 points and as many rebounds in defeat.

Despite losing the rebounding battle 41-56, the Stormers capitalised on KIU Rangers’ 32 turnovers on the night.
