Coach Mike Mutebi has been found after he went missing over the weekend, police have confirmed.
The former Kampala Capital City Authority FC head coach was reported missing on Saturday from Kisubi Beach.
Family members raised the alarm on Sunday before news of his disappearance spread widely on Monday morning.
Mutebi, a resident of Kawempe, had attended a Catholic seminar at the beach and was last seen at about 6:30pm as participants prepared to travel back to Kampala.
However, when the group arrived in Kawempe, Mutebi could not be accounted for, prompting concern from relatives and friends.
Police on Monday evening confirmed that Mutebi had since been found in Kisubi and is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital, where health personnel are assessing his condition.
Mutebi most recently coached AS Kigali FC, who sacked him in April 2022 just four months after appointing him.
He had earlier left Kampala Capital City Authority FC on March 29, 2021, bringing an end to one of the most successful coaching spells in the club’s history.
During his tenure, Mutebi guided the Kasasiro Boys to three league titles, two Uganda Cups, four Super Cups and one CECAFA Kagame Cup in a five-year period.
