JKL Lady Dolphins extended their dominant run in the National Basketball League with a commanding 74-44 victory over Pearl Queens on Sunday at Lugogo.
Despite operating with a limited roster of just six players, the defending champions delivered a clinical performance.
The side was without Brenda Ekone, who is still recovering from injuries sustained in a recent attack, while Evelyn Nakiyingi remains out of the country alongside other absentees.
JKL set the tone early, racing to a 25-13 lead at the end of the first quarter before stretching the advantage to 42-20 by halftime.
They maintained control throughout the second half, never allowing Pearl Queens a route back into the contest.
Rita Imanishimwe led the scoring with 29 points, while Tamasha Nsubuga added 24 in an efficient offensive display.
Agnes Njeri dominated the boards with 15 rebounds, and veteran guard Flavia Oketcho contributed across the board with 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Pearl Queens struggled to find rhythm, particularly from long range, missing 30 of their 39 three-point attempts. They also committed 29 turnovers, which proved costly despite winning the rebounding battle 57-45.
Djenabo Ballo scored 12 points, while Scovia Akello and Agatha Kamwada grabbed 11 rebounds each in the losing effort.
The victory marks JKL’s seventh consecutive win since their opening day loss to KCCA Leopards, reinforcing their status as early title contenders.
For Pearl Queens, the defeat leaves them with five losses in 10 games in what remains a challenging debut season in the top flight.
