URA FC strolled into the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinals after easing past Tapoh FC in a round of 16 clash at Nakivubo.
Olimi Nyarwa, Moses Aliro and Godfrey Ssekibengo scored a goal each as URA won 3-0 in a one-sided affair.
Olimi got the breakthrough in the 33rd minute, curling in with his left foot after beating his marker.
URA had to wait until the 64th minute for their second; Aliro, after cutting inside, had his effort take a slight deflection off Joseph Okiror to find the back of the net.
The third arrived with 15 minutes to play, Ssekibengo drilling in with power after neat inter play involving Aliro and Denis Kisiriko.
The result ends Tapoh FC’s fairytale run in the competition, but moves out with head high after a journey that included eliminating UPL side Buhimba United Saints.
URA FC on the other hand, will fancy their chances for silverware, with Uganda Cup proving elusive since their third title in 2014.
The victory was a special gift from the players to their Muslim coach, Hussein Mbalangu, in celebration of Eid.
