Uganda Premier League side URA FC has appointed Hussein Mbalangu as their new head coach, replacing Alex Isabirye Musongola.
SportsNation TV can reliably confirm that Mbalangu has signed a two-year contract with the Tax Collectors, just months after he was relieved of his duties at NEC FC.
The CAF A–licensed coach has been tasked with turning around URA FC’s season following a slow start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Mbalangu is expected to arrive with a new technical team, a move that will see interim head coach Edward Golola also exit his role as assistant coach.
Former Kaaro Karungi head coach Bastu Ssemuyamba will deputise Mbalangu, while Richard Kansole and Muwadda will serve as goalkeeping coaches.
Hassan Zungu, Morley Byekwaso and Sam Ssimbwa were among the coaches previously linked to the URA FC head coach position.
Mbalangu has previously managed Blacks Power, Arua Hill, Mbarara City, Azam FC and, most recently, NEC FC.
His immediate assignment will be guiding URA FC at the Mapinduzi Cup, with the team set to travel on Saturday, January 4.
