Uganda Premier League side URA FC has appointed Hussein Mbalangu as the new head coach, the club has announced.
Mbalangu replaces Alex Isabirye who was sacked last month after a string of poor results, and the latter has since joined BUL FC.
The former NEC FC coach joins the club for the remainder of the season, with an option to renew.
Mbalangu will work with Bastu Semuyaba (1st assistant), Richard Kansole (2nd assistant), Muwadda Byuma (goalkeeper coach) and Farouk Osama (fitness trainer.
URA has also parted ways with Edward Golola who has been working on an interim since the departure of Isabirye.
But Manko Kawesa (deputy fitness trainer) and Isma Serebe (statistician) have retained their roles at the club.
Mbalangu’s first immediate task will be steering the club at the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar where URA face Mlandege FC on December 31st in their opener.
Currently, URA are 12th on the league table with just two wins after 11 matches so far.
Their remaining four games in the first round are against Entebbe UPPC (H), Vipers (H), Calvary (A) and Police (H).
