URA FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Singida Black Stars in their second match of the ongoing Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar.
Hudu Mulikyi put the Tax Collectors in front before they were pegged back by Idris Diomande on the stroke of halftime.
Mulikyi swept home from inside the area after Fred Amaku, despite being off balance, laid the ball into his path for the opening goal.
However, the Ugandan representatives were punished for poor defending when Ibrahim Wamannah failed to clear his lines, allowing Diomande to bundle in from close range.
Amaku had a chance to restore URA’s lead when he was afforded space and time in the box, but after a quick turn, his effort was blocked.
In a match where clear-cut chances were few and far between, especially in the second half, the final whistle was blown with the score still level at 1-1.
URA now move to four points in the group after edging defending champions Mlandege 1-0 in their opening fixture.
Hussein Mbalangu and his charges will next face Azam FC in their final group match.
